Steve Walker was born in Toronto (Canada) in 1961. He started painting in 1986 after a trip to Europe where he spent his time visiting museums. He died in January 2012 in Costa Rica.

As a gay man Steve Walker focused his work on men and men together but he claims that his art is not about homosexuality but it is about love, hate, pain, joy and other human feelings.
