Gus Kenworthy is a British-American athlete, who decided to come out as gay even if he is still active (and succesfull) in his sports.
He was born in England in Chelmsford (Essex) on October 1, 1991 to an American father and an English mother.Â

The Kenworthy family settled in Telluride (Colorado) where Gus who was then 2 years old will grow up in the company of his two older brothers. This is where Gus will have a passion for skiing and in particular freestyle. In 2009, he will take a year off while at Telluride High School to improve his skills in the sport. Which will be very beneficial for him. From 2011 to 2013 he won the AFP World Championships championship titles. In 2014 he will be an olympic medalist at the SOCHI games (Russia).

A year later Gus Kenworthy decides to come out as a gay athlete on the ESPN sports channel. After that he will be very active in the LGBT + community in order to help young people who like him have suffered from homophobic discrimination. Gus is truly an inspiring person, he’s remarkably kind and this powerful athlete is so adorable. After representing the USA and to please his English mother, in 2019 he decided to participate as a British athlete in international competitions. In February 2020, he won his first Gold medal as a British skier.
